I think it would be very hard for any woman not to like you if they got to know you a little. You're sort of easy to have a crush on.

Oh, maybe you don't. Umm....well if someone were to, say, find you funny, and nice, and attractive and liked you maybe more than just a friend. That would be a crush.

[Marry? That was a very...that was... wow. She'd never asked him if there was anyone he liked where he was from. In retrospect that was a foolish thing not to do.]

Of course, I mean I can see why someone could be in love with you. I hope you'll be really happy, I mean that. And I hope we can still be friends.

Trust me, she's not in love with me. We hardly know each other. We agreed to do it for the good of the kingdom, and all that. And I don't want to stop being your friend! I like spending time with you. You won't stop being my friend just because I have to get married when I get home, right?

Well, no I wouldn't want to stop being your friend for anything. But, you have to marry her and you aren't in love with her? You're doing that for your people?

[And if anything that made her even more drawn to him, but that was impossible. She cared enough and respected him enough that she could be his friend. It was what he needed really, and she could do that.]

No, I think it would take an awful lot to spoil our friendship.

Yeah? The country was about to come to civil war - in the middle of a Blight! Anora was already queen, and didn't want to give up her claim. It was the best way to make sure everyone got what they wanted.

I won't lie and say I'm not a little disappointed, I mean not that you would have wanted to date but... well that's neither here nor there. You're a king and she's a Queen and I understand duty and all that.

While you're here though, I intend to make sure you're happy. [Because that' what friends do.]
